#fabfaithfilledfirstladies Feature #14
As a First Lady it is always important to understand that my husband only has one wife and I am it. My children only have one mother and I am it. When they need me I always try to be right there for them. My family is important to me! I also pray and ask the Lord to help me to realize that I am only one person and I must take some “Me Time”.

Describe your role as First Lady: Being a First Lady is a very special privilege and truly an honor. It gives me the opportunity to get to know all of the members of the church and to render true service in ministries that need assistance. It gives me the opportunity to get to know and to work with all of the ministers’ spouses throughout the connection. I enjoy and value my role as a CME Church First Lady.
What is the best advice that you’ve been given about being a First Lady: Do not gossip with members of the church and always hold my husband in high esteem to the members.
Allow your husband to be the Pastor… always be supportive of your husband in his role as Pastor
What is the biggest challenge that you face as First lady: Having time to fit in all of the church activities, job related activities and social activities and still be able to attend the meetings and travel with my husband.
On Saturdays, one can usually find you…attending a church meeting, a sorority meeting, a River City Links meeting, pampering myself at the nail shop, going to the hair salon or shopping. I try to get all of my house work done during the week which frees me up to be “out and about” on Saturday.
What is your favorite quote/scripture: “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me”. Philippians 4:13
What advice do you have for a First Lady new to her role: Allow your husband to be the Pastor, always be supportive of your husband in his role as Pastor and when the members come to you for permission regarding a church activity, direct them to the Pastor.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years: I see myself hopefully slowing down from some of the many activities which I now have and being able to enjoy and attend many of the church meetings and activities which I sometimes now must miss.
