Describe your role as First Lady: My role as a first lady includes meeting the needs of my husband first, and serving as a spiritual advisor to the congregation.
Load your heart with God’s word so that you can minister to the people as well as yourself at the same time.
What is the best advice that you’ve been given about being a First Lady: Trust the anointing that God has placed on your life.
What is the biggest challenge that you face as First lady: Challenges are always viewed as a bad thing, but I view them as “growing pains.” As a first lady, I continue to challenge myself to be Greater in God. Where I am today should not be the same place I am in two years down the road.
Why do you think it’s important to be active in the community: There has always been this stereotype that Pastor’s wives just sit pretty and don’t work in the Church. I KNOW THAT THIS IS NOT TRUE EVERYWHERE. It is very important to serve, no matter who or what you are. I am faithful to the work of the Church and the Community because I understand that there is no such thing as an “inactive” church member. I faithfully work in almost every realm of the ministry. I feel that if anyone should model service to the Lord, it should be me! When God promotes you, it’s really to promote him. The greater the blessing, the greater the responsibility.
On Saturdays, one can usually find you: At someone’s birthday party, wedding, housewarming, shower, etc. I may also be seen somewhere with my loving family! We are very close.
What is your favorite quote/scripture: My husband uses this scripture often to encourage me, and it has become my favorite. Proverbs 24:10 – “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.”
What advice do you have for a First Lady new to her role: Study, Study, Study!!! It’s hard to be a spiritual mother pouring out to a congregation if you are empty inside. Load your heart with God’s word so that you can minister to the people as well as yourself at the same time.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years: In 5 years, I will be doing some major things; still glorifying God on a larger platform. I won’t stay here for long! I am enjoying this season of preparation!
