Domestic Violence Survivor Deborah Monroe Says VICTIMIZE ME NO MORE!
During the month of October, many domestic violence survivors take the time to shed light on their stories and how they had the strength to overcome some of the scariest days of their lives. However, Deborah Monroe, Founder of VICTIMIZE ME NO MORE, a Non-Profit organization whose mission is to spread awareness on abuse (Domestic Violence, Child Abuse and Sexual Assault) shares her story year round!
While in college, Deborah entered into a 3 year abusive relationship. The abuse included emotional, physical, financial and sexual. Some of the physical attacks ranged from being slapped, punched, choked, to also having a loaded 9mm Smith and Wesson pointed to her head on several occasions.
As a survivor, Deborah has made it her mission to spread awareness on abuse, because of that she founded VICTIMIZE ME NO MORE. Monroe also holds a Victim Advocacy Certificate from Virginia Tech University and is a court appointed advocate for abused and neglected children.
Monroe is also the author of HURT NO MORE, which is a self help guide for victims and abusers. HURT NO MORE was released on Feb. 11, 2014.
Order HURT NO MORE! Available online at: Barnes and Noble, Tate Publishing, Books-A-Million, Target, Wal-Mart, Amazon and other retailers.
Deborah currently has her first children’s book in production entitled “GOOD SECRETS, BAD SECRETS”, which is geared towards helping parents and caregivers talk to their children about abuse.
