What is your definition of an Inspirational person: Someone who sees the potential in another and calls them up to be the person God has gifted and created them to be.
What is the difference between someone who inspires vs. someone who gives false hope: False hope is just telling someone what they want to hear, while inspiring is seeing the real potential in a person, believing in them, and helping them cultivate what God has put in them into a reality.
What legacy do you plan to leave for your children/those that look up to you: I pray that I will leave a legacy of trusting God to my children, that they might see their daddy clinging to Christ each day, deeply in love with my Savior, and passionate about sharing the love of Christ with other people, starting with them.
On Being A Leader: To be a good leader one must first be a good follower. In order to lead well, it’s vital to surround yourself with Godly men or women as mentors in your own life. We cannot export what we do not possess, and so it’s important to keep pressing into Godly leaders to grow in our own leadership ability. Ultimately, the best leaders will not only be submitted to older, Godlier men and women, but also completely dependent upon God. A great leader spends time on his knees, knowing his true power comes from God, and so he refuses to lead in and through his own strength but instead relies on the God he loved with all of his heart. He follows God wholeheartedly, and therefore is qualified to lead.
On Saturdays, one can usually find you: in my backyard playing ball with my 3 boys: Caleb, Luke, and Jonathan.
What is your favorite quote/scripture: Phil.1:27 – “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm, in one Spirit, contending as one man for the faith of the Gospel.”
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years: I would love to be right here in Memphis loving my family and laboring for the sake of Christ.
In 10 years: The same.
