We often say that God arranged our meeting at the right time and the right place. We were truly Kismet!
…weekly date nights are so important. It doesn’t have to be much and you really don’t have to spend any money…
What is the best advice that you’d give for those who desire Marriage: Marriage has to always be a work in progress. Find out your potential mate’s dreams and aspirations for life to see if they line up with yours. Always put your marriage first and communicate daily.
What is the biggest challenge that you’ve faced as a couple & how did you handle it: Most often, when couples get married they start out living together but separate. They tend to think more like room-mates and not as ONE unit, splitting everything down the middle. Before we got married, we sat down and discussed how we could move together as ONE unit. We also attend a Spiritual based Couples Counseling class to help us accomplish this goal. We have been married 15 years and what we learned in class laid the foundation of our marriage to this day.
With the Lord…, we are not easily broken and can conquer anything that comes our way.
How do you balance ministry, career and marriage? Couples should understand that marriage is 50/50 and we must be supportive of each other’s needs. However, our everyday lives can become very hectic and demanding. It becomes very easy to slip into mundane daily activities. We call that seeing each other, but not seeing each other. That’s why weekly date nights are so important. It doesn’t have to be much and you really don’t have to spend any money, if you do want too. Most importantly couples get the opportunity to have scheduled time with each other and re-connect….no children and no distractions!
Marriage is a ministry so what do you want others to glean from your marriage: Ecclesiastes 4:12 – A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. With the Lord as our third strand, we are not easily broken and can conquer anything that comes our way. Keep God first! Trust in the Lord above all else and always cherish each other.
